I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how to take the energy that swirls around in my soul related to all of the progressive, social-justice-focused issues I care about and merge it with the energy I love to dedicate to quilting. I don’t know that those things necessarily go together in any logical way, but quilting my way through all of the significant events of the last couple years (and honestly, the last forever and ever…and ever…) has made me wonder if there’s any way I can contribute to the world via my favorite hobby.
So I had this little idea…a quilt auction called: The End Justifies the Seams. Simply put, I’d make and donate a bunch of quilts…and you’d bid on them via an online auction site…and every dollar of the money you bid would go directly to a number of progressive causes about which we care deeply.
I’m in the earlier stages of developing this website…and an instagram…and creating anywhere from 5-7 quilts…and a figuring out process to auction off the quilts. I’ve been scheming about this for a couple years…it’s finally all coming together.
