Fuck Cancer

One of the fiercest, kindest, funniest, sweariest, bestest humans I know is fighting for her life right now. This is one of those fucking FUCK CANCER situations. My dear friend Shannon wrote eloquently about it in the GoFundMe post. I’m just mad and swearing about it, I guess. Go figure.

Please read Amber’s story and consider making a donation to help her get life-saving care.

And how about this…if you make a donation of $500 or more, I’ll make you a quilt. Because I can’t do anything about cancer, but I sure can quilt. And one kindness deserves another, yes? Let’s work together to fight for this beautiful human and her family.

PS: if GoFundMe isn’t your thing, but you’d like to make a donation, an account has been set up at their local bank:

Peoples State Bank

715 State Rd 79

Boyceville, WI 54725

Checks can be made out to Amber Carlsrud with the word “Benefit” on the Memo line.

Wolf Ridge Quilt Auction Closed

Hooray! We raised enough money to cover the tuition for two 5th graders! There were about $4,000 worth of requests for student tuition support, and I’m so grateful that we were able to team up and help cover these costs. THANK YOU for your participation!

St. Anthony Park Elementary School 5th Grade Trip Quilt Auction

I’m excited to announce a new quilt auction opportunity!

The fifth graders at M’s elementary school do a week-long overnight camp/outdoor learning experience at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center every June. I am auctioning off two new batik-and-flannel beauties to help augment field trip tuition expenses for kids at St. Anthony Park Elementary. 100% of the proceeds from this auction will help support the tuition fees to make sure every student is able to participate.

The bright quilt is made from aqua, magenta, and pinkish-orange batiks. It is backed with orange-red flannel. The earthy quilt is made from brown, burgundy, and navy batiks. It is backed with a plum-purple buffalo plaid flannel. Both quilts measure approximately 70″ x 80″.

The auction will open at 8:00am on Friday, May 3 and will close at 10pm on Friday, May 17.

In the interest of full transparency, I want to state that this is not fundraising for the tuition for our family. This is to make sure the trip is possible for all kids, regardless of family contribution. No student is turned away…let’s help make sure everyone is well supported!
